at least kernel 2.0.34.
You can use 'insmod via-rhine', then 'dmesg' to see
what happened. If no errors, you can add a new line
'alias eth0 via-rhine' to /etc/conf.modules.
If you want to recompile the kernel, you will find
via-rhine at Network device support->PCI EthernetCard
->VIA Rhine support
If you use it as MODULE, please use 'insmod via-rhine' and then
'dmesg' to see what happened. If there are some lines like these:
eth0: VIA VT3043 Rhine at 0xd400, 00:80:c8:e6:18:8d, IRQ 5.
eth0: MII PHY found at address 8, status 0x782d advertising 05e1 Link 40a1.
That is OK.
Or if you use it buit-in, please do 'dmesg' too and check the same
lines above, and also you can check /proc/pci, then if still problems,
you can post it here.
Do you think whether you can ping localhost if the
network is disable? I only want him to check whether
the network is enable. (/etc/sysconfig/network)
